Hello Guys,

anyone help with this error message on my vSAN environment "Physical disk health retrieval issue".
Is this critical?

Re: Physical disk health retrieval issue

Hello,

It is recommended to generate the Array Diagnostics Report or the StorCLI logs, depending on the type of controller installed to identify issue with the hard drive.

Re: Physical disk health retrieval issue

Hello,

This could indicate a problem with a drive, but the chances are that you may have run into a problem as stated in the VMware KB article:

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2149291#:~:text=Q%3A%20What%20does%20the%20Physical,retrieved%20from%20the%20ESXi%20host.

Unfortunately, for hosts in a vSAN the array tools (ADU / StorCLI output) are not very useful as the drives are not generally in an array. Unless a drive is outright failed, then you may not see anything useful in the logs. If the above KB article does not resolve this, then the host logs will likely need to be checked for any potential drive issues.

Regards
