Re: Integrity Superdome SX1000 Server - Compatibility to 3PAR
I just wanted to point out that the Superdome SX1000 is based on the Integrity IA64 processor and that it is impossible that the OpenVMS version your customer runs is V7.3, a supported release exclusively for the Alpha platform. The SX1000 superdome is supported by OpenVMS starting from the I64 V8.2-1 release. The Alpha platform has never been certified to work with 3Par storage.

Re: Integrity Superdome SX1000 Server - Compatibility to 3PAR
Hi KathrinaST,
The compatibility should be checked with the HPE Storage SPOCK (https://h20272.www2.hpe.com/SPOCK) for any OS. As far as I see, HP-UX is compatible but do not for OpenVMS.
Veritas VM can be used with 3PAR.

Re: Integrity Superdome SX1000 Server - Compatibility to 3PAR
Just to be precise,
3Par is supported by OpenVMS I64 Integrity Platform starting from HPE V8.3-1H1 release, while the OpenVMS Alpha platform has never been certified to work with 3Par storage.
HPE spock site reports correctly this information.
The document to refer to in the zip file is : "HP_3PAR_StoreServ_20000__9000__8000__7000__10000_Storage_series_FC_HP_OpenVMS_IA64_8_4_2020_09_01.pdf"
Note: also HPE Primera storage is supported by OpenVMS starting from VSI V8.4-2L1 release :

Re: Integrity Superdome SX1000 Server - Compatibility to 3PAR
Hello Maurizio,
One more question.
Is there a specific model of the XP or EVA they suggested ?
For OVMS 7.3.2 SPOCK is only listing the MSA 1000/1500 as supported
For HP-UX, the only available options are XP24000 and XP7, we have not been able to offer the XP24000 for the last 2 requests.
I do not believe the XP7 will support OVMS 7.3.2
Spock does not show any EVA arrays that support the Alpha platform
Can you please support me in which direction I can move?
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Katharina
