HPE StoreOnce 5100 and 5200 accessing raid array disk SMART data
Hello guys,
I've had a barrage of problems with my HPE StoreOnce 5200 appliance. Multiple dead drives and corrupted filesystem.
This has all been solved, but going forward i would like to monitor disk SMART data to potentially catch drives before they give up the ghost.
In the web GUI it only shows disk as faulty once they are completely dead and unusable which is sadly a bit too late.
Is there a way to convince StoreOnce to display actual full SMART data for all the drives?
Can this be done through ILO over SSH or something similar?
Thank you for any answers,
Rok

Re: HPE StoreOnce 5100 and 5200 accessing raid array disk SMART data
Hi Terrokkar,
In older versions of StoreOnce software (Gen3) it was possible to login with SSH and check the status.
Gen4 system does not have CLI or SSH access to customer.
Thank you. HPE Community team.
Thank you!

Re: HPE StoreOnce 5100 and 5200 accessing raid array disk SMART data
Hi Mohammed,
So there is no way to check SMART data on StoreOnce systems?
Is there an alternative solution to monitor raid array health?

Re: HPE StoreOnce 5100 and 5200 accessing raid array disk SMART data
Hi Rok Znidarsic,
For Gen4 system only option is GUI and ILO , no other option.
My recommendation is to install Insight Remote Support it's a monitoring tool.
For more information I am enclosing the details : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00127664en_us&page=GUID-03E2E39A-4DDF-436E-8CBF-B696419F6AAF.html

Re: HPE StoreOnce 5100 and 5200 accessing raid array disk SMART data
Hi Mohammed,
Insight Remote Support tool doesnt show any hardware health information, its just a tool to contact support and submit issues, along with management of updates and such?
How can you check smart data through ILO?
BR,
Rok

Hi , Rok.
I think you can find the required information inside the comprehessive support ticket.
You will receive information not online, but still it is more than nothing.
