Unable to register Primera to RMC

Good day

Can someone pleae advise me what the problem could be if I am unable to register a Primera array in RMC appliance?

I have done the following to troubleshoot

1. Reboot RMC appliance = no difference

2. Redeploy RMC appliance = no difference

3. Login to RMC console on ESXi host and go to troubleshooting and ping Primera array IP = ping successfull

I am able to add the StoreOnce to RMC and the StoreOnce is in the same network range. I also have SSMC running in the same network and was able to add the Primera in SSMC.

I keep on getting this error

Please check if WSAPI service is running on the Primera. WSAPI Service should be enabled.

Command to check : showwsapi

I see it is enabled, will a restart of the service perhaps help and if i restart it does it have any affect on IO?

Hello @CRD,

I don't see anything as an obstacle here. Please try to restart WSAPI and try to add Primera as a Storage device. Commands are 'stopwsapi' and then 'startwsapi'.

Thanks for your response

Have done the WSAPI restart but no improvement. Its so weird becasue I can ping the Primera array from the RMC appliance console when I log into the console and I was able to add a StoreOnce appliance with no problems which is on the same network range.

Hello @CRD,

I tried to check further about this. But couldn't find much.

Please check again if everything is fine from the networking side. Try to add the storage (Primera) using the hostname as well.

If the issue still exists, please report this to HPE support for detailed analysis.

I have opened a case with HPE support

Will do session later today to see if it can be resolved

Hi

Just an update

HPE support was able to resolve the problem, they just had to adjust a timeout value slightly for the Primra to be added to the RMC appliance which resolved the problem.
