Copy Policy - VM assignments - scheduled times
What is everyones method for how they schedule times and assign VMs to a Copy Policy?
So as you may know, you cannot edit a Copy Policy while it is assigned to a VM. After numerous conversations with those which support this product, trying to explain to me, I just don't get it. This has been a major pain point for me over the years when I need to make modifications for any reason to a copy policy; for example duration or how many jobs to keep.
The way i have always scheduled out my VM protection is in a way for trying not to overlap jobs. Most of my VMs are done in 5 minutes so I space them out accordingly. For example, VM1 runs Sat. 1:00AM, VM2 1:05AM, VM3 1:10AM.... and so on. If one overlaps, that's ok, I just don't want a big group trying to run at the same time, less strress.
So now to make my policy change I ran to remove the VMs from the policy, edit the poilcy, then one by one schedule each VM again. Very time consuming with several VMs.
Thoughs on how to get around this? How do you schedule out your VM protection?
Thanks
