Re: Upgrade Processor ML110 G9
Hi,
Try different options like, dmidecode --type baseboard
https://www.configserverfirewall.com/linux-tutorials/dmidecode-command/
https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dmidecode-command-in-linux-with-examples/
Thank You!

Re: Upgrade Processor ML110 G9
dmidecode --type baseboard
# dmidecode 3.4
Getting SMBIOS data from sysfs.
SMBIOS 2.8 present.
Handle 0x0012, DMI type 2, 17 bytes
Base Board Information
Manufacturer: HP
Product Name: ProLiant ML110 Gen9
Version: Not Specified
Serial Number: CZ1XXXXXX
Asset Tag:
Features:
Board is a hosting board
Board is removable
Board is replaceable
Location In Chassis:
Chassis Handle: 0x0000
Type: Motherboard
Contained Object Handles: 0
Handle 0x006F, DMI type 41, 11 bytes
Onboard Device
Reference Designation: Embedded LOM 1 Port 1
Type: Ethernet
Status: Enabled
Type Instance: 1
Bus Address: 0000:02:00.0
I tried serveral parameter and option with the dmidecode command, but i cant get the modelnumber of the mainboard. The v4 CPU should arrive about 2-3 day so i have to try out if v4 cpu works. Some users write after an BIOS update the v4 CPUs works.
Are there any hardware issue using a 79XXXX mainboard with a v4 CPU or is the "old" v3 mainboard after a bios update working with a v4 CPU ? Technical specs are almost eqal.
