PowerPath upgrade from 3.4 to 4.0. License question

During the upgrade process I got this warning:

Note : PPMA 4.0 will exclusively support the XML-based license file, and no other license file format will be supported. You need to refresh your old ELMS license (.lic) files (if you have any) to the new DDLA license file (.xml) before proceeding with the update.

I confirmed all our license have a file type of .lic.   

So the big question is: How do I convert them?

Also a general complaint that this warning should be in the upgrade instructions not spit out by the upgrade process!
