Norton 360 Issue

Just installed Norton 360 (v.2) on my desktop pc, running Vista home premium. I am now getting non-stop spyware, malware, etc. warnings and my Security Center says I don't have virus protection, even though the center's settings indicate it recognizes Norton.
Sure would appreciate a push in the right directioin on this.
