Podcast - Discussion on Protocol Choices for NVMe over Fabric

Connectivity between servers and storage is getting a facelift. The transition of servers and storage arrays from using HDD to using SSD's running on NVMe leads to the storage fabric shifting from SCSI-based connectivity to NVMe over Fabrics. There are several choices for fabric transports to enable customers to make this transition, including Fibre Channel, RDMA-enabled Ethernet and traditional Ethernet. In the Marvell Essential Technology podcast behind the link below I discuss how this tranisiton has happend and the options server andstorage administrators will have to choose from. This incldues NVMe over RoCE, NVMe over TCP and FC-NVMe. I also discuss a few of the pros and cons of each approach.
